In the deionized water business, superior service is required because customers need to trust and rely on the DI water provider to make sure there is purified water round the clock. This includes:
- 24 to 48 hour (or less) response time
- Drivers who are technically astute and not just delivery people
- Excellent attention to detail
General Water Services is the sister company of Res-Kem Corp., founded in 1983. In 2000 General Water Services was founded so we could better service the DI water customer base that Res-Kem developed.
General Water and Res-Kem share ownership, management and sales force. General Water's customer service, regeneration operators and drivers are separate, trained, and dedicated to DI water service. Each of our customers is serviced by a single sales application engineer and customer service person. A live person and not an automatic attendant will answer our telephone. And if by some chance we've done something you don't like, the owners are on the premises willing and ready to address the situation to the best of our means.
Service Area
General Water is a regional service company delivering portable deionized water tanks within a service area running north to south from New York City to Baltimore MD and east to west from coastal New Jersey to Harrisburg, PA. We do ship outside this general area when the economics make sense.
As a result of the combined strength of Res-Kem and General Water, we are a full service organization able to completely support our customers. If necessary, General Water customers have ready access to Res-Kem design engineers, service technicians and installers. When necessary, Res-Kem customers have access to temporary deionized water or softened water if demand changes, problems happen, or plant expansion is needed. For example, if you are experiencing a temporary problem as a result of an equipment malfunction, your Res-Kem/General Water team can arrange for a General Water temporary system while Res-Kem service personnel address the problem. Conversely, if your company uses portable DI water tanks and would like to explore the possiblity of an in-house regenerable system, you have access to Res-Kem engineers.

Note from Denise Urbans:
For years I simply checked the Woman-Owned Business box on the forms I received and didn't think much about it. It's most important to me that customers do business with us because we are good at what we do, not because we are woman-owned. Over the past several years however, large businesses have gotten serious about enhancing opportunities for minority and women-owned businesses and insisted on certification by an independent third party. The WBENC was created in 1997 for this purpose. "WBENC monitors the national certifications process and is a guarantor to its supporting corporations that the certification process is diligently adhered to and the standards maintained."
To those of you who do business with General Water Services or Res-Kem Corp. already, please make sure the people who collect this kind information know you are dealing with a certified WBE; it will count toward your company's goals. To those of you we haven't had the opportunity to do business with - we'd love to have you as a customer!
